Our "Serials" are an LCD dot matrix series, ready for operation with control unit and front frame or in a snap-in housing. The PLUG series offers graphic displays with OLED technology.
Two or three integrated character sets and a wide range of graphics functions permit the time- and cost-saving use of the latest LCD graphics displays. Apart from a supply voltage of +5V and RS-232 data, no further signals are required.
The internal FLASH can be used to create predefined screen layouts, for example. TIFF, JPG, TGA and GIF animations can also be saved here. The software is freely available and can be downloaded here: LCD-Tools for Windows.
OLED provide much higher contrast than LCD, but this technology isn't necessarily suitable for sunlight. On the other hand, they are extremely fast, even at -40°C (or +85°C).
The series we are talking about here is an LCD dotmatrix series complete with a control interface and bezel. The LCD module, which includes an RS-232 interface, is delivered as a unit.
First, clip the display and backlight modules together by gently pushing the display pins through the corresponding holes on the backlight module. Then insert the entire module into the socket, or into the soldering holes on the pcb.
Dotmatrix Standard Modules ... The dot-matrix LCDs offered here are all equipped with the HD 44780 controller or similar; they contain a complete character set and are configured for operation on the 4- or 8-bit data bus of a processor system. There are R/W, RS and enable control lines.
EA OLEDS102-6LGA and -6LWA / Flat This module is the standard module and does fit for the most applications. The flat design (2.4 mm) makes the display perfect for smallest equipment. The background is always deep black for best contrast.
